고전문헌학과 고대후기 철학의 교차점을 연구하며, 특히 그리스에서 라틴으로 전승된 아리스토텔레스 논리학과 신플라톤주의 주석 전통에 주목한다. 주된 관심사는 포르피리우스의 『이사고게』와 이에 대한 보에티우스 및 그리스 철학자들의 주석서, 그리고 보편 논쟁이다. 박사학위 논문에서는 『이사고게』에 제시된 보편자에 관한 세 질문이 플로티누스와 포르피리우스 사이의 형이상학 논쟁을 반영하고 있음을 논증하고, 그의 제1차 주석을 근대 최초로 프랑스어로 번역, 해설하였다. 한국연구재단 인문사회학술연구교수 과제로 빅토리누스, 보에티우스, 아풀레이우스, 아우구스티누스 등 고대후기 라틴 논리학 교재에 대한 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 서울대학교 인문학연구원에 소속되어 있다. 주요 업적으로는 Brepols 및 Peeters 출판사에서 간행한 다수의 불어 전공서 논문과 단행본 편저 『신플라톤주의 주석가들의 철학 입문』(Brepols, 2020), 그리고 『서양고전학연구』를 비롯한 국내외 학술지 게재 논문 등 총 19편의 연구 성과가 있다.
My research lies at the intersection
of classical philology and late ancient philosophy, with particular attention
to the transmission of Aristotelian logic and the Neoplatonic commentary
tradition from Greek into Latin. My principal interests are Porphyry's Isagoge,
its exegesis in Boethius and the Greek commentators, and the problem of
universals. In my doctoral dissertation I argued that the three questions on
universals raised in the Isagoge reflect a metaphysical debate between Plotinus
and Porphyry, and I produced the first modern French translation and commentary
of Boethius's first commentary. As a research professor funded by the National
Research Foundation of Korea, I am currently conducting research on late
antique Latin logic textbooks (Victorinus, Boethius, Apuleius, Augustine), and
I am affiliated with the Institute of Humanities at Seoul National University.
My scholarly output comprises nineteen works in total, including numerous
French-language studies published with Brepols and Peeters, the edited volume Introduction
générale à la philosophie chez les commentateurs néoplatoniciens (Brepols,
2020), and articles in journals such as The Journal of Greco-Roman Studies and
other domestic and international venues. |
